    Barrowland Ballads

    Through photography, text and graphic art, the award-winning artists of Recollective engaged with the untold stories of the Barrowland Ballroom, working closely with the venue and the east end community.

    A collection of artworks made during a twelve month residency in Falkirk town centre, using writing, photography and illustration to respond to the restoration of the town's landmark buildings.

About Recollective

Recollective is Alison Irvine, Chris Leslie and Mitch Miller, an award-winning collective of writer, photographer/film-maker and illustrator who make art about people and places.

Alison Irvine is a Saltire-award nominee novelist, Chris Leslie a BAFTA New Talent Award-winning photographer and filmmaker, and Mitch Miller an Association of Illustrators New Talent Award-winning artist known for his dialectograms.

As a collective they use photography, film, illustration and creative non-fiction, mixing techniques from ethnography, oral history and social documentary to produce thought-provoking, high-quality art about real lives.
